Aims & Objectives
ABOUT SEED
- To work, through voluntary effort, for the comprehensive development of the community by initiating and coordinating action mainly in the fields of education, health, rural development, children, and women welfare.
- Social defense, human development, drug de-addiction, and on fields touching upon family welfare and rehabilitation of old age, destitute women, disabled, and differently challenged individuals.
- To promote functional literacy, technical knowledge, and skills, rehabilitation packages of the people leading to a better quality of life, and to facilitate the youth to lead a good citizenship and highly functional life.
- To improve the health status of people with emphasis on prevention of chronic illnesses, health disasters, AIDS prevention, supported by secondary and tertiary levels of prevention and health education.
- To bring about such social change or cause to provide such social changes or facilities as to improve the welfare of the people through group formation, CBO strengthening, women empowerment, and measures to provide a wider social base.
- To strive in all efforts for the provision of preferential services for the social periphery of the community, women, and children, slum dwellers, rural, and tribal communities through scientific, technical, and research & development initiatives.
- To act as a link between the government and people for economic, social, educational, and cultural development and empowerment of the underprivileged sections, strengthening voluntary efforts in rural development, and building local leadership and institutions.
- Development and promotion of village small-scale and khadi industries, literary efforts, along with house building for the weaker sections, and organizing the construction of tanks, canals, check dams, and other irrigation works towards environmental protection and biodiversity.
- Setting up of training centers for imparting training for implementing developmental activities.
- To render assistance to farmers and rural artisans by providing integrated self-sustenance programs.
- To run and organize Bala Mandirs, Mahila Sadans, orphanages, youth clubs, hospitals, residential schools, libraries, community halls, Sishu Vihars, Bala Sangh Homes, Mahila Mandals, and youth clubs.
- Formation of model villages, model agricultural farms, and farming cooperative societies.
- Promoting adult education and literacy centers and popularizing government initiatives through group action.
- Managing integrated healthcare programs and providing nutrition education for the community and disabled.
- Promote the necessary infrastructure, support, and training to run and establish cottage industries and small-scale industries.
- Promote veterinary services for the benefit of rural masses and encourage animal welfare.
ORGANIZATIONAL ANALYSIS AND OVERVIEW WORK OF SEED WORK
The Society for Education and Environment Development (SEED) a non-profit entity
aiming at uplift of social backward segments since 1994 has given numerous
carvings to the matching parameters towards social awareness, economic
empowerment and comprehensive touch up to backward classes, tribal groups, slum
dwellers, exploited women and youth in particular the children segment for their
rights and obligations as well as for their integrated development packages matching
to that of the millennium development goals and social thrust in the form of
aggrandized notions of ethical and social obligations that are posed on the civil
society organizations. The youth and women are drawn to community participation,
gender development, equal opportunities, household tranquility as well as the
vigorous social attempts at garnering the holistic family development.
